College of Engineering
The College of Engineering has had spectacular results with Day of Giving, especially in 2024 and again in 2025 when we finished in second place overall behind only the College of Music. The generosity of our Day of Giving Donors and various Challenge Gift Donors made some amazing things possible. The Mean Green Racing Team was able to raise about $10,000 each of those years – funds which allowed them to build UNT’s first ever Formula SAE Battery-Electric vehicle and bring it to the national competition. In 2025 due in part to the generous gift of $25,000 to match other gifts the Department of Computer Science & Engineering raised over $60,000 which put the Department over a threshold of raising $225,000 over a two-year period to launch the Center for Inclusive Computing which focuses on the success of all computer science students, including our first-generation students. That success unlocked $225,000 in matching funds from another donor first offered in 2023 and finally delivered in 2025. Day of Giving funds provide vital funding to cover scholarships and new initiatives not funded by the State of Texas or tuition revenue and help us deliver greater opportunities for our students to succeed. Come and see and please give generously so we can continue to enhance the success of UNT Engineering students.
